Roadgas Infrastructure Supports Pretoria Energy Mepal

Roadgas has successfully commissioned a new bio-LNG refuelling station for Pretoria Energy at its’ Mepal site in Cambridgeshire.

As part of Roadgas’ ongoing commitment to supporting the transition to lower carbon transport, the Mepal station is the first site in Roadgas’ third-party access station network.

Located at Pretoria Energy’s Mepal site in Cambridgeshire, the station provides fleet operators with access to bio-LNG refuelling infrastructure, helping to support the wider adoption of renewable fuel across the UK.

Commissioned in September 2025, the station has the capability to fuel approximately 20-30 trucks per day, providing a reliable and accessible refuelling solution for heavy goods vehicles operating on renewable gas.

This station marks an important milestone for Roadgas as the first third party access station within the network. It allows approved fleet operators to access bio-LNG refuelling without the requirement for their own private station infrastructure, helping to make renewable gas solutions more accessible and scalable.

The project supports Roadgas’ wider strategy to develop a national network of bio-LNG refuelling stations, giving operators a practical decarbonisation solution whilst maintaining their operational performance.

Roadgas are proud to be working with Pretoria Energy to support the development of a new bio-LNG refuelling network and help fleet operators transition towards cleaner, renewable fuel solutions.
